Andy was born and raised in the Midwest, spending nearly his entire life in the Sioux City area. He started his career in Civil Engineering, developing subdivisions and mastering the infrastructure that supports the neighborhoods people call home.
Over time, his passion shifted from the land beneath homes to the homes themselves — and he pivoted into custom building. 13 years later, he leads Hovey Construction with the same principle that drove him here: do it right, be honest, and build something that lasts. He knows his clients by name. Every home he builds is built for a neighbor.
Steven grew up watching his father build custom homes his entire life — the craft, the integrity, and the care it takes got in early and never left. He built on that foundation with 20 years in Civil Engineering managing large-scale infrastructure projects, developing the discipline and precision that home building demands.
As General Manager at Hovey Construction, Steven oversees every project from ground-breaking to walk-through — keeping schedules tight, teams accountable, and clients informed. For him, this is the intersection of everything he was built for.
Bruce spent more than two decades in law enforcement — a career that demands discipline, accountability, and a calm head under pressure. Throughout those years, he was also running a small building contractor on the side, never fully able to shake his passion for the craft.
When his time as an officer came to an end, Bruce didn't hesitate — he pivoted to building homes full time and hasn't looked back. As Project Manager at Hovey Construction, he brings the same precision and reliability he carried through his law enforcement career to every project he oversees. When Bruce is on a job, things get done right and on time.
Nic was raised right here in the South Sioux City area and never left — and the community is better for it. When he's not running job sites for Hovey Construction, he's coaching high school sports and staying as woven into this community as anyone you'll meet.
As Site Superintendent, Nic is the boots-on-the-ground presence that keeps every build moving. He knows the crews, knows the trade, and holds the standard that Hovey is known for — right there on site, every day.
